Los Angeles native and proud Salvadoran-American, Veronica Alvarado is a powerhouse.

Veronica leverages on her extensive network to elevate + empower women and small businesses to the next level. She has cumulative experience of over 25 years in the hospitality, entertainment and media industry. She grew in ranks at an early age from an administrative assistant position at Lowes Hotel, to a sr. sales manager at House of Blues, to one of the youngest Latina marketing executives at Univision Radio. Which led her to discover her creative gift and produce high level events for the Los Angeles Times and among other clients. In 2008 she launched her own marketing agency, NELMmarketing.

In 2019, she created #NELMimpact an initiative whose purpose is to support, educate, and raise awareness in topics that directly impact our Latino and minority communities in business, health, wellness and finances which led her to embarked on her most aggressive venture, to build a Latino community that cares on a digital platform, PARRIVA  that enlightens, engages and promotes user participation. PARRIVA serves as a launching pad to help amplify and support all Latino community related needs and wants.

During the same time after seeing the high rise in mental and emotional hardships our youth was experiencing, Veronica launched her own nonprofit, the Chito Foundation aimed to support and empower Latino youth to take action on their path to entrepreneurship through access to mentorship programs, workshops and scholarships.

While she continues to spend her time working in the marketing industry, she also ensures to serve the community through her philanthropic efforts. Currently, she serves as Board President for Amanecer Community Counseling Services, has for almost 50 years provided mental health services to underprivileged families. Unlike many other mental health organizations in LA we offer both adult and children's services. She’s on the field with Los Angeles Regional Food Bank as a volunteer lead and she is a proud alumni of the Latina Golfers Association “ 2018 Latina Leadership Through Golf Cohort”, promoting women in sports. Veronica is an active advocate for A21 in the fight against modern day slavery. She finds her greatest joy in leading her own Propel Women Chapter, an organization empowering women globally to develop their leadership and faith through a weekly women’s study group.

While her professional experience and achievements are broad, her mentorship style remains approachable, kind and humble as she strongly believes in the power of community and collaboration. Which motivated her to create #CommunitybyVero a series of engaging faith-based events and community outreach initiatives.

Veronica continues to reside in Los Angeles with her two adult sons and father. She was raised fully bilingual speaking Spanish growing up; it was helpful she was sent to El Salvador every summer during her early school years to keep the culture and language alive. Veronica is driven by her bicultural roots, family, faith and a huge passion to create and serve her community.
